Tony Kihl

Tony was born in Wisconsin and grew up in Augusta, GA (yes home of the Master’s Golf Tournament). His love of college football started early. He started watching in 1988, the last time Notre Dame won the title and just fell in love with the sport and that team. He watched every weekend and took in as much as he could. Now Tony heads to as many Notre Dame and other college football games as he can.

Outside of college football, Tony works in Communications in the tech industry for giants such as Apple and Dell. He is married to his wife Alecia (for 11 years) and we have two kids – Grayson (8) and Jaxson (3).  He is currently living outside of Cleveland, Ohio where he is surrounded by way too many Ohio State Buckeye fans.

Get to Know Tony:

Favorite team as a kid: Notre Dame
Favorite team now: Notre Dame
Favorite conference: Big Ten
Most overrated conference: SEC
Favorite broadcaster: Current – Mike Tirico  / All time – Keith Jackson
Who your hero was growing up: My Mom. She was a member of the Army and Air Force while I was growing up and worked harder than anyone I know. Then after the armed forces, she worked as many jobs as possible to keep food on my plate, even when it meant she couldn’t eat.
Who your hero is now: My son Grayson. He is 8, has Autism and even through every challenge in the world has been thrown his way, he is always happy and joking.
Favorite college football fan base: Notre Dame. We are global and always polite and supportive when other teams visit our stadium. Outside of Notre Dame, its Iowa, I always think to the Iowa Wave at the Childrens hospital and the support they give those kids.
Favorite college football stadium: Notre Dame Stadium
Favorite tailgate food: A brat
Favorite tailgate beverage: A nice cold Coke (not much of a drinker at games)
Hot late-August game or cold late-November game: Cold-Late November game, a good game will warm you up.
Your best college football memory: In person – Notre Dame beating Clemson in 2022 when no one thought it was possible. On TV – Notre Dame beating Pittsburgh in 2012 in triple overtime to remain undefeated and making their push for the title game.
Wildest college football prediction you ever got right: Kansas State beating Oklahoma in 2003. Oklahoma looked unbeatable that year but that Kansas State team led by Darren Sproles had an explosive offense that I felt could hurt that tough Oklahoma defense and they did, winning 35-7. I bet on them in a College Football pIck-em at work.
Best all time college football player: Tim Tebow
