In this episode we break down all of the results in week 5 of College Football which includes Alabama over Georgia Kentucky over Ole Miss, Notre Dame beating Louisville, USC coming back on Wisconsin, Michigan holding on against Minnesota, and UNLV rolling Frenso State.

[00:00:35] [SPEAKER_03]: Well guys, we had a pretty interesting week of college football that we'll get into today
[00:00:38] [SPEAKER_03]: It's good
[00:00:39] [SPEAKER_03]: We had an interesting week because next week does not look good on paper
[00:00:42] [SPEAKER_03]: So if you have plans, I would suggest next week is a great time to go out do something see the world
[00:00:48] [SPEAKER_03]: Because there's not a lot of great games next week, but we'll look at that just a few minutes
[00:00:52] [SPEAKER_03]: But first let's take a look at some of the games from last week answer some question top questions from those games
[00:00:58] [SPEAKER_03]: So first I think obviously the game of the weekend was Alabama and Georgia. Everybody was talking about this game on social media
[00:01:05] [SPEAKER_03]: But Alabama took a 28 point lead
[00:01:08] [SPEAKER_03]: Dental at Georgia come all the way back and take the lead before J. Lamarro hit
[00:01:12] [SPEAKER_03]: The 17 year old make sure everybody knows he's 17 Ryan Williams for amazing go ahead touchdown
[00:01:19] [SPEAKER_03]: Then intercepted Georgia to end the game there
[00:01:22] [SPEAKER_03]: So, you know, obviously this is a back and forth
[00:01:24] [SPEAKER_03]: We'd I'd ever seen Georgia get dominated like that. They were able to make it up come back
[00:01:29] [SPEAKER_03]: But with that in mind, I have some interesting questions for you guys here is Georgia in danger of missing the playoffs
[00:01:35] [SPEAKER_03]: They have Texas Ole Miss Tennessee and Georgia Tech still to come
[00:01:39] [SPEAKER_03]: So four tough opponents. So we'll start you Jess is Georgia in danger of missing the playoffs. I
[00:01:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Don't think Georgia is in danger of missing the playoffs
[00:01:49] [SPEAKER_01]: although I don't think they can truly afford to
[00:01:55] [SPEAKER_01]: Take another loss like if they lose to Texas, I don't think that's gonna be held too much against them
[00:02:01] [SPEAKER_01]: They're certainly not gonna finish with the top seed
[00:02:04] [SPEAKER_01]: but it I don't think they can afford to lose more than one
[00:02:09] [SPEAKER_01]: I think right now they're all but out on being able to make the SEC championship
[00:02:15] [SPEAKER_01]: But I don't think they're truly in danger of missing the playoffs
[00:02:20] [SPEAKER_03]: Okay, George what about you as is danger is Georgia in danger here missing the playoffs?
[00:02:26] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't think so. I think we already saw I think the biggest question mark is gonna be that Texas game
[00:02:30] [SPEAKER_04]: I think Ole Miss showed their colors and how they are against Kentucky
[00:02:34] [SPEAKER_04]: And Tennessee I still think it's still up in the air
[00:02:38] [SPEAKER_04]: But I think Georgia will be in hard to be in the SEC championship game but still be in at a higher seed
[00:02:46] [SPEAKER_03]: Okay, I think Georgia is gonna miss the playoffs. I
[00:02:50] [SPEAKER_03]: They're gonna lose the Texas maybe Texas or Tennessee if they're going to win both of those games
[00:02:54] [SPEAKER_03]: I think they'll split those games. They'll be 10 and 2 and not make the SEC championship
[00:02:59] [SPEAKER_03]: Will they get in as a 10 and 2 team?
[00:03:02] [SPEAKER_03]: Maybe with those two losses, but it's gonna be tough
[00:03:05] [SPEAKER_03]: So I'm gonna go ahead and vote that they're gonna be right on the outside
[00:03:09] [SPEAKER_03]: Looking in on the top 12 playoff there. Okay
[00:03:13] [SPEAKER_03]: Next up what's talk about is Alabama the new favorite to win SEC? I think we have all
[00:03:19] [SPEAKER_03]: Talked about potentially Texas being the favorite throughout the year. So Georgia. I love your thoughts here
[00:03:24] [SPEAKER_03]: Is Alabama a new favorite or are you still going on someone else? I?
[00:03:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Think Alabama is the new favorite
[00:03:29] [SPEAKER_04]: I think they have explosive weapons on offense with Jella Milrow and Ryan Williams
[00:03:34] [SPEAKER_04]: And I think their defense has been played really well against Georgia
[00:03:37] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm pretty sure Carson Beck had three interceptions. So I think Alabama as of right now
[00:03:43] [SPEAKER_04]: After that huge winning against Georgia are that number one
[00:03:47] [SPEAKER_03]: All right, you know a vote here for Alabama being a new favorite here
[00:03:51] [SPEAKER_03]: Just do you agree is Alabama a new favorite to win the SEC?
[00:03:55] [SPEAKER_01]: No, I think it's still Texas if for nothing else than remaining
[00:04:00] [SPEAKER_01]: difficulty of schedule Texas is only real notable games are
[00:04:04] [SPEAKER_01]: Their next game which is on the 12th against Oklahoma for the Red River rivalry game and then the following week after that they host Georgia
[00:04:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Whereas Alabama still has to go to Tennessee to LSU to Oklahoma
[00:04:22] [SPEAKER_01]: They host Missouri, and I just think that you know, wow, I think they should win those games
[00:04:28] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, it's not a I don't think it's as easy of a remaining schedule
[00:04:34] [SPEAKER_01]: As Texas has and I still think Texas right now them in Ohio standard the two best teams overall in the country
[00:04:43] [SPEAKER_03]: Did look a little shaky of arch this weekend this one on sort out there for a while
[00:04:47] [SPEAKER_03]: They were in a tough game with Mississippi State. So I was ready to talk about it
[00:04:52] [SPEAKER_03]: I was ready to talk about this podcast with you if they lost that game somehow because I mean
[00:05:00] [SPEAKER_01]: It was never really that close
[00:05:07] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, it was they had the Texas had the touchdown in the first quarter Mississippi State kick two field goals make it seven to six
[00:05:16] [SPEAKER_01]: Texas had a touchdown to end the half 14 to six and then the next time
[00:05:21] [SPEAKER_01]: Mississippi State scored it was to make it 28 to 13 like it was close to the
[00:05:28] [SPEAKER_03]: Third but I remember 14 six in the third
[00:05:31] [SPEAKER_01]: But when when you're in a 21 to 6 in the third quarter when you're an SEC school and you lose to Toledo
[00:05:38] [SPEAKER_04]: 41 to 17 and you keep it kind of close to Texas
[00:05:44] [SPEAKER_03]: Huh, what's talk about arch and every day? I have a lot of Georgia could barely score against Kentucky
[00:05:49] [SPEAKER_01]: And then had this insane comeback against Alabama football college football is weird guys
[00:05:56] [SPEAKER_03]: Well talk about Kentucky in a minute took you this has a good defense. I think we've shown this this year so
[00:06:02] [SPEAKER_03]: Except for against South Carolina. They did not have a good defense. I don't know what happened. No, they did not
[00:06:07] [SPEAKER_03]: All right, Jordan, what would you?
[00:06:09] [SPEAKER_03]: You already answered that question. So I'm gonna pass you up talk about you later
[00:06:14] [SPEAKER_03]: Kentucky
[00:06:16] [SPEAKER_03]: Speaking of Kentucky we have Kentucky controlled the tempo a little on this game with Ole Miss
[00:06:21] [SPEAKER_03]: They end up winning this game 20 to 17. It was very close
[00:06:24] [SPEAKER_03]: It was very similar to the Georgia Kentucky apron week prior but Georgia
[00:06:28] [SPEAKER_03]: You know I think had a stronger defense compared to Ole Miss and Kentucky was able to run the ball a bit
[00:06:34] [SPEAKER_03]: I get so miss and win this game 20 to 17
[00:06:36] [SPEAKER_03]: So I guess my question for you guys is what is the problem with Ole Miss against these tougher teams?
[00:06:42] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't even know if it's upper defense team
[00:06:44] [SPEAKER_03]: It's just tougher teams like the Georgia's and
[00:06:47] [SPEAKER_03]: Alabama's and now
[00:06:49] [SPEAKER_03]: Kentucky's those that just have a good defense to slow down their
[00:06:51] [SPEAKER_03]: Offense they don't seem to be able to have the answer to make the adjustments to the score when they need to suggest
[00:06:58] [SPEAKER_03]: What do you think here? What do you fix the problem? Are they just too much of a finesse team or what do you fix problem there?
[00:07:04] [SPEAKER_03]: Ole Miss I
[00:07:05] [SPEAKER_03]: mean
[00:07:06] [SPEAKER_01]: It was a weird game
[00:07:09] [SPEAKER_01]: They just weren't able to really finish drives. I mean they had almost 400 yards of total offense
[00:07:17] [SPEAKER_01]: They were able to run the ball
[00:07:19] [SPEAKER_01]: Efficiently they averaged six yards of play
[00:07:23] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what it is. I
[00:07:26] [SPEAKER_01]: They've got in terms of them making the playoffs. I still think they got a shot if they can
[00:07:33] [SPEAKER_01]: Finish as a let's say they lose to Georgia. It's just a two-loss team
[00:07:38] [SPEAKER_01]: They're gonna be big 10 and SEC schools that make it this year with only two losses like if
[00:07:46] [SPEAKER_01]: If Rutgers goes undefeated and then loses in the big 10 championship game versus a two-loss
[00:07:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Ole Miss, I think they give that nod to Ole Miss. I'm just using Rutgers as an example
[00:07:57] [SPEAKER_01]: But I think they still got a fair shot
[00:08:00] [SPEAKER_01]: But I don't think they can afford a blowout loss to Georgia
[00:08:03] [SPEAKER_03]: the way their schedule though if you look at Ole Miss schedule they play South Carolina next then LSU
[00:08:09] [SPEAKER_03]: Then Oklahoma did Arkansas then Georgia then Florida did Ole Miss Mississippi State
[00:08:16] [SPEAKER_01]: Got some games on there that as of right now on paper. They're not like easy games. They win those then I think they've really
[00:08:24] [SPEAKER_03]: I think you're definitely to the different in Georgia
[00:08:30] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and I think they have to win the rest to have a chance
[00:08:33] [SPEAKER_03]: I think there'll be nine and three team though then is here Jordan one by you
[00:08:36] [SPEAKER_03]: What's the problem full miss and do you think they make the playoffs?
[00:08:39] [SPEAKER_04]: I think that their defense is a big problem. It's always been a you know, Lane Kiffin problem
[00:08:46] [SPEAKER_04]: But I don't think they're making the playoffs. I think this loss is too big
[00:08:50] [SPEAKER_04]: They're losing another one to Georgia more than likely
[00:08:53] [SPEAKER_04]: This is a too big of a loss to a team that is in the bottom tier of SEC schools this year
[00:09:00] [SPEAKER_04]: And you should have won this game. You should have blown out this team like every other game
[00:09:04] [SPEAKER_04]: So I don't think Ole Miss is making it no matter 10 and 2
[00:09:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Ten and one if they're ten and one. Yeah, but ten and two no
[00:09:12] [SPEAKER_03]: All right, what's more about another day? You know have to talk about they did get a finally get a quality never quality win this year
[00:09:19] [SPEAKER_03]: That gets Louisville. I guess as long as they play top 25 teams, they're good to go
[00:09:23] [SPEAKER_03]: This is those November Illinois of the world they seem to have trouble with but they won this game
[00:09:27] [SPEAKER_03]: 31-24 me and Jordan were in attendance there. I
[00:09:31] [SPEAKER_03]: you know, I saw a lot of
[00:09:33] [SPEAKER_03]: Media
[00:09:34] [SPEAKER_03]: Which obviously probably don't have peacock do not watch this game
[00:09:37] [SPEAKER_03]: They said at Louisville lost his game and they went it to me
[00:09:41] [SPEAKER_03]: their name caused a lot of the turnovers at Louisville had and
[00:09:45] [SPEAKER_03]: You know, they gave they actually try to get the way game away to Louisville multiple times were able to hold on
[00:09:50] [SPEAKER_03]: And I thought it was pretty impressive for their name. They had a
[00:09:53] [SPEAKER_03]: Five or six defense players out for this game
[00:09:57] [SPEAKER_03]: Without during the game their top three corners were out at one point during this game
[00:10:01] [SPEAKER_03]: They had a true freshman playing corner who actually did pretty well over didn't want to touch down he gave up
[00:10:07] [SPEAKER_03]: So I thought their name did pretty well in this game
[00:10:09] [SPEAKER_03]: And it kind of came back up into the close to that top 12 again
[00:10:13] [SPEAKER_03]: So I when I would ask you because there's been a lot of like inks on different podcasts and shows
[00:10:18] [SPEAKER_03]: I watched that never name should it be allowed to get back in
[00:10:22] [SPEAKER_03]: Because of the northern Illinois loss so Jess our resident
[00:10:26] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know what I would call it hater, but
[00:10:32] [SPEAKER_03]: I
[00:10:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Not as high on them. They're not my favorite team like they are your guys's
[00:10:41] [SPEAKER_01]: But I will say this I don't think that they should be kind of
[00:10:46] [SPEAKER_01]: disqualified with that loss. I do think though that the
[00:10:51] [SPEAKER_01]: Their fate is not in their own hands. I think they're gonna need help
[00:10:55] [SPEAKER_01]: But I think if they go undefeated if they
[00:10:59] [SPEAKER_01]: Run in in the last week of the season to a one-loss
[00:11:03] [SPEAKER_01]: USC who's ranked pretty highly and they win that game and
[00:11:09] [SPEAKER_01]: They do so especially in convincing fashion
[00:11:13] [SPEAKER_01]: Like they can't afford to lose another game. Oh, yeah, they can't go with two losses
[00:11:18] [SPEAKER_03]: I cannot be a
[00:11:20] [SPEAKER_03]: Two-lost team I'm having trouble getting anybody in with two losses
[00:11:23] [SPEAKER_03]: But maybe I need to read some my thinking because I'm thinking I think I hit my head
[00:11:27] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm still thinking you can't get in the playoffs of two losses
[00:11:29] [SPEAKER_03]: But this obviously be the first year that some teams get him two losses
[00:11:33] [SPEAKER_03]: But I think if you get in with two losses, you have to be big tenor SEC
[00:11:36] [SPEAKER_03]: I think
[00:11:37] [SPEAKER_01]: That's how you're gonna get and I and I think if if they get in on one loss
[00:11:42] [SPEAKER_01]: You know that happened to come at the last second on a field goal or
[00:11:48] [SPEAKER_01]: Was it them that lost on the made field goal Iowa lost on the missed field goal or
[00:11:53] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, either way they lost a field goal
[00:11:56] [SPEAKER_03]: They went down like get the field goals and field goals blocked at the end
[00:11:58] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so like something like that and that's like their only kind of hiccup
[00:12:04] [SPEAKER_01]: And I think they I think they have a shot that maybe if Ole Miss
[00:12:10] [SPEAKER_01]: loses to
[00:12:12] [SPEAKER_01]: Georgia and
[00:12:14] [SPEAKER_01]: You know Missouri
[00:12:16] [SPEAKER_01]: Stumbles, you know like like all those kind of I honestly
[00:12:21] [SPEAKER_03]: Because who is the Ole Miss beaten this year, I mean Furman
[00:12:28] [SPEAKER_03]: South Carolina
[00:12:30] [SPEAKER_03]: So yeah, no, I mean a lot of these teams are I think
[00:12:35] [SPEAKER_03]: You know are going by their
[00:12:38] [SPEAKER_03]: by name recognition because
[00:12:41] [SPEAKER_03]: Some of these teams in the top 15 there still have it beaten anybody like I will say for their name
[00:12:45] [SPEAKER_03]: They're only team in the top 25 that's beating two top 25 teams
[00:12:49] [SPEAKER_03]: That's currently in the polls. So gotta give that to them. So Jordan any thoughts here in their game?
[00:12:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Are they still alive for play-offs? I think they're still live. I think the schedule
[00:12:57] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean they could go play Navy and they can be ranked. They can play army. They can be ranked
[00:13:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Virginia is three in one if they go into for play Virginia and the Virginia's lost one or two games
[00:13:10] [SPEAKER_04]: They could be ranked. So there's a lot of chances. I think army and Navy got like
[00:13:15] [SPEAKER_04]: five to two votes
[00:13:18] [SPEAKER_04]: For the top 25. So I think going into those games
[00:13:22] [SPEAKER_04]: if they're ranked and we beat them then
[00:13:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Definitely should be able to get in. All right
[00:13:29] [SPEAKER_03]: Let's talk about
[00:13:31] [SPEAKER_03]: USC so USC fellow behind 21 or 10 at half against Wisconsin
[00:13:35] [SPEAKER_03]: But then pulled away big in the second half winning this one 38 to 21
[00:13:40] [SPEAKER_03]: So based on
[00:13:42] [SPEAKER_03]: A couple games that you've seen in the big 10 so far for USC. What is your updated prediction?
[00:13:48] [SPEAKER_03]: It's for their record. So just to give you a little recap here
[00:13:51] [SPEAKER_03]: They're gonna be playing Minnesota Penn State, Maryland, Rutgers, Washington, Nebraska, UCLA and Notre Dame the Raptors season
[00:13:58] [SPEAKER_03]: So right now they have the one loss against Michigan. Where do you see?
[00:14:03] [SPEAKER_03]: Michigan fallen start of start view. What's um, what's kind of record you see in USC?
[00:14:08] [SPEAKER_03]: Are they having two three four losses? What are you thinking or one? Are you like go? They wouldn't arrest them?
[00:14:13] [SPEAKER_04]: I
[00:14:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Think they have at least two more losses in there
[00:14:16] [SPEAKER_04]: I could see them going to Minnesota and losing and we saw Minnesota have a really good game this weekend
[00:14:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Also Penn State, that's gonna be tough. They're they're not used to this physical defense
[00:14:27] [SPEAKER_04]: That is an offense. That's physical the whole game
[00:14:30] [SPEAKER_04]: And I think that's wearing down USC and it's gonna wear him down all the way up
[00:14:34] [SPEAKER_04]: I think even Rutgers is gonna go and undefeated this year
[00:14:37] [SPEAKER_04]: No, but Rutgers is gonna be able to beat them. So I think USC is gonna win two or three more games
[00:14:42] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I don't know what just gonna do that Rutgers USC game. It's gonna be really hard
[00:14:52] [SPEAKER_04]: He's gonna get one of those half jerseys Rutgers
[00:14:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Don't ever say that again the people who do that unless you're like well, no
[00:15:01] [SPEAKER_01]: Kelsey and it's your two sons like just Jess is gonna have
[00:15:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Jess is gonna love Rutgers this game and they're gonna lose and oh my gosh. I love USC. It's gonna change
[00:15:11] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, that's not how my fandom works. I just happened to have
[00:15:16] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not we're not gonna get to this again
[00:15:20] [SPEAKER_01]: I can't wait for this ranking. I cannot wait for this ranking. I'm gonna make you guys so miserable later

[00:15:30] [SPEAKER_03]: Jess what are you? What do you think in USC's record do you think one two three four losses? I
[00:15:36] [SPEAKER_01]: Think they'll finish with three. I think they'll lose to Penn State and Notre Dame
[00:15:39] [SPEAKER_01]: I think that their defense is much improved but still
[00:15:43] [SPEAKER_01]: Has some holes as we saw when they got absolutely run all over by Michigan
[00:15:50] [SPEAKER_01]: But at the same time, I do think they're going to show that there
[00:15:54] [SPEAKER_01]: Still a very talented team that is gonna be able to win those
[00:15:59] [SPEAKER_01]: Minnesota games those Rutgers games, you know, like I would be surprised
[00:16:05] [SPEAKER_01]: I think maybe they and some of these teams end up being a bit closer
[00:16:09] [SPEAKER_01]: Then we thought like they certainly can't afford to be coming out like they did against Wisconsin against a Penn State
[00:16:16] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and say she's not too much talented what you will about some of their inconsistencies
[00:16:21] [SPEAKER_01]: but they are a much more talented team than
[00:16:24] [SPEAKER_01]: Wisconsin is especially with Wisconsin playing without their starting quarterback, but UCLA looks terrible this year and
[00:16:32] [SPEAKER_01]: You know Nebraska's got some talent, but they should win
[00:16:35] [SPEAKER_01]: I think USC should win that same for teams like Rutgers in Washington. So I
[00:16:42] [SPEAKER_03]: Know I actually see them beating Penn State
[00:16:45] [SPEAKER_03]: I can see them getting up. I just for some reason it's still hard for me to pick Penn State any kind of marquee matchup
[00:16:51] [SPEAKER_03]: Until they prove it to me that they can win. I just
[00:16:54] [SPEAKER_03]: Have to look at there, but I could see them getting a surprise loss somewhere. We're that's a Rutgers and Nebraska
[00:17:00] [SPEAKER_03]: UCLA who beat him last year. I mean even one of those could be there
[00:17:04] [SPEAKER_03]: I do feel like if Notre Dame still has something to play for like playoff
[00:17:08] [SPEAKER_03]: I feel like we're they wouldn't that but I could also see Notre Dame made if they lose a surprise game
[00:17:12] [SPEAKER_03]: Maybe people start opting out, you know that kind of thing never know what happens. So
[00:17:16] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I could see I say two to three more losses for
[00:17:20] [SPEAKER_03]: Four of USA as well. All right, let's say that Michigan
[00:17:24] [SPEAKER_03]: Michigan took a big lead against Minnesota. I really just had to hold off for dear life
[00:17:29] [SPEAKER_03]: against them
[00:17:31] [SPEAKER_03]: Continue to look terrible on offense defense continues to look good and really saving the day for him
[00:17:36] [SPEAKER_03]: My question for you guys
[00:17:37] [SPEAKER_03]: It should they start true freshman Jaden Davis at quarterback. He has not I don't think he has played at all this year
[00:17:46] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't think he's further past from for Michigan, but
[00:17:49] [SPEAKER_03]: Look at the starters. They can't throw a pass if they're trying to they're worried about putting this guy out there
[00:17:54] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, he's got to do better. He's got to be able to throw a pass better than these two
[00:17:58] [SPEAKER_03]: Quarterbacks and Michigan is used would you just go ahead and roll the dice and for your young guy out there and try to
[00:18:05] [SPEAKER_03]: Get some offense going to go along with your defense start to be Jordan
[00:18:09] [SPEAKER_04]: I I would but I feel like it's tough this next game they have
[00:18:14] [SPEAKER_04]: It's at Washington throwing him into a way game at
[00:18:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Washington is going to be tough
[00:18:19] [SPEAKER_04]: But they don't really have a game that they could test them out in they play Washington at
[00:18:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Washington at Illinois then they play Penn State then they play Oregon then they play Indiana
[00:18:30] [SPEAKER_04]: North Western's next game. They have and then they have Ohio State
[00:18:35] [SPEAKER_04]: So if you're gonna throw a minute, I feel like it'll hurt him
[00:18:39] [SPEAKER_04]: I feel like you stick with what you got right now and see what happens
[00:18:45] [SPEAKER_03]: Defense and I just they just can't throw the ball. I just is
[00:18:49] [SPEAKER_03]: Eventually you got to build a throw at least for 100 yards or 50 yards. So I don't know
[00:18:52] [SPEAKER_03]: I just close my mind
